Our Tuition Assistance Program helps make classes available to all!
Anyone can apply for tuition assistance. We want to support members of the community who are in need of financial assistance and would like to experience classes at the Indy Art Center.
We take into account financial, medical, and personal issues in reviewing applications. Simply turn in your complete application by the due date, and you will be considered!
We also offer payment plans that allow you to seamlessly pay for select classes over time. Learn more!
When should I turn in my application?
Fall Applications Open:
Thursday, July 2nd, 2026
Fall Application Deadline (1st Session):
Sunday, August 9th, 2026
Fall Application Deadline (2nd Session):
Sunday, October 4th, 2026

Your 3 top class choices (Class name and Course Number)
Income Documentation (Tax return, SSI, disability, etc.)

How are the scholarships prioritized?
Although we wish we could provide tuition assistance for everyone, our funds are limited. We prioritize the applications in the following way:
- New applicants
- Completion of application
- Date received
- Financial need (income vs. household ratio)
How is the tuition assistance awarded?
We consider financial, medical, and personal issues in reviewing applications. Scholarships are awarded based on a sliding scale. We consider your annual household income and the number of people in your family and compare that to our sliding scale to determine the percentage of tuition assistance awarded. Tuition assistance awarded may be full or partial. Turn in your complete application by the due date, and you will be considered!
Do I provide my own art supplies?
- For adult classes – Yes. Tuition assistance only covers the cost of the class.
- For youth + teen classes – No. All youth + teen classes have their materials provided.
