Family Camps

Join us in the studio for a family-focused, week-long art experience! Each day features collaborative projects and open-ended invitations to create.

We offer Family Camp for ages 2–6 (with an adult), ages 4–10 (with an adult), and Inclusive Family Camps for ages 8+ with a parent or caregiver. Inclusive Family Camps welcome neurotypical participants and participants with disabilities, with adaptive supports available as needed. All Indy Art Center summer camps welcome children of all abilities.

**Please note: the price is per participant and applies to both children and adults. At least one adult is required per group. **

Draw & Paint: Animals! (Family) Ages 4-10 w/Adult

Come create together as a family while learning how to draw and paint your favorite animals! This collaborative class invites children and adults to explore art side by side. Using a variety of materials including graphite, pastels, watercolor, and acrylic paint, families will experiment with different techniques and styles. A teaching artist will guide participants through accessible drawing and painting techniques, encouraging creativity, observation, and shared artistic discovery. All materials are included. It is never too early or too late to experience sensory play and working with clay is a perfect way to do just that! In one of our ceramics studios, families will work together, using basic handbuilding techniques, to express themselves with clay. Each camp session will focus on one collaborative art project per family group.All supplies are provided.Fired clay pieces will be available for pickup at guest services a minimum of two weeks after the last day of this camp. Nature & Art-Inclusive Family Camp (Ages 8+ w/Adult)

Join us for a shared, nature-inspired art experience designed for families to create and explore together. This inclusive camp welcomes children (ages 8+), teens, and young adults to participate alongside a parent or caregiver while discovering how nature sparks creativity. Inspired by the colors, shapes, and textures found outdoors, participants will paint, sculpt, and draw using a variety of materials. Families will work side by side on guided projects that encourage observation, collaboration, and creative expression. The camp welcomes neurotypical participants as well as participants with disabilities and offers adaptive supports when needed, while remaining a shared, community-centered experience for all. Join us on a time-traveling adventure through art history! Each day of camp, families will "travel" to a new time period to learn about an artist from the time. Next, families will work together to create their own masterpieces inspired by the artists they meet in our travels. Sculpture Sampler-Inclusive Family Camp (Ages 8+ w/Adult)

Join us for a hands-on sculpture experience where families create and explore together! This inclusive camp welcomes children (ages 8+), teens, and adults to participate alongside a parent or caregiver while experimenting with three-dimensional art. Using materials such as clay, wire, and found objects, participants will bring their creative ideas to life. Campers will be introduced to a variety of sculptors from different time periods and styles, gaining inspiration from diverse approaches to form and structure. A teaching artist will demonstrate basic construction techniques and support families as they turn their ideas into unique sculptural creations. The camp welcomes neurotypical participants as well as participants with disabilities and offers adaptive supports when needed, while remaining a shared, community-centered experience for all.
