The Art Center’s Youth & Teen Programs provide young artists with high-quality fine art instruction in state-of-the-art studios, encourage self-expression and foster positive risk-taking within a nurturing artistic community.

Please note: All Youth & Teen classes have been changed to 7 weeks in length from 6 weeks. All Family Classes are now 4 weeks long.

Process Art Play Group (Drop-in class for ages 2-4 w/ adult)

Process over product is the name of the game in this unique drop-in play group! Each session will begin with several invitations to create through play set-up around the room as centers. Little artists are encouraged to choose activities freely with encouragement from the instructor. The centers will focus on opportunities for independent play, parallel play, creativity, and decision making all while strengthening fine-motor skills. Each session will end with a collaborative process-based art project. The price is per child only, an adult must be present for the duration of the session. There is no fee for the adult. Doodling is a great way to get ideas on paper and experiment with different materials and techniques. In this hands-on camp, families will tackle engaging drawing challenges to keep you busy all week long! Learn to foster your child's creative independence in the studio and beyond. Teen Institute: Art School Prep

Are you considering a career in visual arts? Thinking about art school? Then this is the perfect time to review and refine your portfolio. Teens will bring their sketchbooks and samples of their work to identify and work on missing portfolio elements. Through a combination of visiting artists, college representatives and student-led research, we will learn about various art programs and how their application requirements may differ.
