Welcome to our Youth Community Programs!

Through our Youth Community Programming, we’re dedicated to bringing high-quality art experiences to underserved youth communities. Our programs aim to break barriers, foster creativity, and teach crucial life skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and empathy. Find yourself here, at the Indy Art Center, where it’s always everybody’s art! Join us on this transformative journey to create a more inclusive future.

Youth ArtReach

Our Youth ArtReach Program is a free after-school and summer art initiative that serves 1,300+ youth annually across 20 sites, including after-school programs, shelters, and transitional living centers. In our semester-long ArtReach classes, students engage in art-making, art history, art criticism, and aesthetics, fostering valuable self-confidence and self-expression.

Youth ArtReach Field Trip

A Youth ArtReach Field Trip is a Community Program geared toward underserved populations in the Indianapolis area. The program offers an interactive field trip for groups of up to 15 youths and provides students with an opportunity to engage in an artmaking experience in our studios.

Students will participate in a unique, high-quality, material-themed art-making lesson, created and led by one of our qualified teaching artists, and held in a professional art studio. Our Youth ArtReach Field Trip groups will also experience an interactive guided tour through our current exhibitions or one of our theme-related studio spaces.
